Post-purchase surveys for Shopify

PulseAsk is a post-purchase survey app for Shopify that shows which marketing channels actually drive your sales.

Ad pixels under-attribute — iOS privacy and ad blockers hide conversions, and influencers, podcasts, word of mouth and AI assistants leave no pixel trail. PulseAsk asks the one person who knows the truth: your customer, right after checkout, when response rates are highest.

The channels your pixels can't see

Your analytics say "Direct". Your customers say something else entirely.

iOS privacy & ad blockers

App Tracking Transparency and ad blockers strip tracking from a large share of your traffic. Those sales still happen — they just show up as "Direct" or disappear from your attribution entirely.

Influencers & podcasts

A customer hears about you on a podcast or from a creator, then Googles your brand a week later. Pixels credit the search — the podcast that actually drove the sale gets nothing.

Word of mouth

Friend and family recommendations are often a store's strongest channel, and the one no pixel can ever measure. Only the customer can tell you it happened.

AI assistants

ChatGPT and other AI assistants increasingly recommend products. These referrals are invisible to conventional analytics — but they show up clearly when you ask.

How it works

1

Install and turn it on

One click activates a "How did you hear about us?" survey with sensible default options: TikTok, Instagram, Google, YouTube, Podcast, Friend/Family, ChatGPT/AI, Other. Zero code, live in 2 minutes.

2

Customers answer at checkout

The survey appears on the thank-you page and the order status page via Shopify's native Checkout UI extensions — lightweight, one question at a time, dismissible. Asking at the moment of purchase gets very high response rates.

3

See revenue by channel

Every answer is linked to the order — its ID, value and date — and the order is tagged with the channel. Your dashboard shows revenue attributed by channel, AOV by channel and response rate, filterable by date range.

Everything you need, nothing you don't

Survey editor

Edit the question and options, reorder them with drag and drop, and add a conditional follow-up on paid plans — for example "Podcast" → "Which one?".

Revenue dashboard

Responses by channel, revenue attributed by channel, AOV by channel and response rate — with date-range filters. Attribution tied to real orders, not just response counts.

CSV import & export

Export your data anytime. Import history from Delighted or Fairing with a simple column mapping — your past responses come with you.

Order tagging

Each order is tagged with its channel via a metafield, so you can use attribution data in Shopify flows, reports and segments.

English & French

The survey widget ships in English and French, so you can ask customers in their own language.

Simple LTV

See lifetime value per responding customer, so you know which channels bring buyers who come back — not just one-time orders.

Simple, stable pricing

14-day free trial on paid plans. Billed through Shopify. No surprise price increases.

Frequently asked questions

What is a post-purchase survey?

A post-purchase survey is a short question shown to customers right after they complete an order — typically "How did you hear about us?" on the thank-you page. Because it is asked at the moment of purchase, response rates are very high, and each answer can be tied to a real order and its value.

Why is a post-purchase survey better than ad pixels for attribution?

Ad pixels under-attribute: iOS privacy changes and ad blockers hide a large share of conversions, and channels like influencers, podcasts, word of mouth and AI assistants such as ChatGPT leave no pixel trail at all. Asking the customer directly captures those channels, and PulseAsk ties every answer to the actual order value, so you see revenue by channel, not just clicks.

Does PulseAsk slow down my checkout?

No. PulseAsk uses Shopify's native Checkout UI extensions, which render inside the thank-you and order status pages the same way Shopify's own components do. The survey is lightweight, shows one question at a time, is dismissible, and never touches your theme code or checkout flow.

Can I migrate from Delighted or Fairing?

Yes. PulseAsk includes a CSV import with simple column mapping, so you can bring your historical responses from Delighted or Fairing into your PulseAsk dashboard. Delighted shut down on June 30, 2026, so if you were a Delighted user, export your data as soon as possible. See our Delighted migration guide.

How does billing work?

Billing is handled entirely through Shopify — charges appear on your regular Shopify invoice. The Free plan costs nothing. Paid plans (Growth $29/month, Pro $79/month) come with a 14-day free trial, and you can change or cancel your plan at any time from the app.
